Welcome to Bumblebees and Butterflies
Welcome to the Summer Term. We hope you had a lovely Easter holiday and are excited to be back at school.
This term the topics are Going Wild! and Mini-beasts. We are going to start by exploring different environments including jungles and rainforests and finding out about the animals that live there. After half term we are going to be looking closer to home at our immediate environment and finding out about mini-beasts with habitats there.
The children continue to work hard with their phonics and reading, so please continue to hear them read every day, practising blending and segmenting and those tricky red words.
The following are some useful links you may want to use to support learning at home:
http://www.ictgames.com/resources.html for number facts, money, addition and subtraction
https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/BuriedTreasure2.html for blending and reading real and made-up words
http://www.crickweb.co.uk/Early-Years.html other fun, learning games
In maths we are going to be spending much of this term continuing to explore composition of numbers to 10 and related bonds. It would be great if you could help your children practise recognising, counting and using these numbers at home to help them embed this knowledge.
Thank you for all your support this term.
Mrs Thomas and Miss Wallis
