Computing

At Westfield, we aim to provide a relevant, challenging and enjoyable curriculum for computing for all children, meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum Programmes of Study for Computing, whilst also developing a lifelong skill for the children. We ensure we respond to new developments in technology and use Computing as a tool to enhance learning throughout the curriculum.

At Westfield we understand that the Internet is an essential element in 21st century life for education, business and social interaction. Therefore, the school has a duty to provide students with a high-quality understanding of the risks and benefits of spending time online, and equip them with clear strategies and understanding of managing themselves online and protecting themselves from harm. Pupils are taught about the positives of the internet and how to protect themselves while using it.
