  • Viking Day

    Published 17/05/22

Year 5 took part in an exciting Viking day on Friday 22nd April. We made and ate Viking bread, decorated and inscribed clay coins with Viking runes, created cardboard swords and shields and some children built paper long boats.

The children also enjoyed an immersive Viking story using the press play headsets, played Capture the flag games on the field to simulate an invasion and took part in a Fire pit experience with toasted marshmallows, yum!

  • Eggcitement in Reception

As part of our farm topic we were lucky enough to have some eggs delivered to school for us to learn about the life cycle of a chicken.

When the eggs first   arrived we kept them warm in an incubator. After only a few days the first chicks began to hatch . It was amazing to watch.

Once the chicks had become fluffy and a bit stronger, the children in each class were able to have a go at holding them. We loved feeling their soft feathers. The children loved watching the chicks learn to move and flap their wings.
