As previously mentioned, please send donations for the   Harvest Celebration Assembly on October 23rd in plastic bags so that we can share these too. 

Please send donations in between 20th —22nd October.

The Harvest assemblies are 9.15am for years 3-6, and 11am for Years R-2

Another HUGE thank you to the Friends of Westfield who made and sold the Wonka bars to the children. Their hard work is really appreciated by us all.

Please ensure that you order your school photos online by midday 5th November.

If you order after this time you will have to pay postage costs.

Here is a photo of the brilliant bed den she built at home during the summer holidays.  Liberty described how inside the den they had "lots of pillows and squish mallow toys which are like big, soft pillows".  They all "relaxed and read comic books" and they "had torches, so that it looked green from the curtains and blankets around them".

Chartwells (our caterers) ran a Bee Ready Flower Competition last term.  Children could design a 3D flower poster if they wished to take part.

The parents evenings are on:

Monday 5th February (for Hawks class only) 3.30-5pm

Tuesday 6th February (for all classes) 3.20-5.30pm

Thursday 8th February (for all except Hawks class) 3.20-5.30pm

The bookings will open on Scopay on 23rd January at 7pm, and close on 5th February at 9am.

Please ensure you go line to book your parents evening appointments.

Please contact the office if you require a Scopay joining letter.

After this date you can still order but there will be a fee  of £4, and the photo will be sent directly to you and not to school

Some children will be helping during this event. They will go home at the end of the school days as normal, and we ask that parents bring them back for the event. Letters will be sent out nearer the time.

Please note that all Parents and Carers are welcome to     attend and to come and look around the school, and see the fun activities that will be in action on the night.

The Zones of Regulation use four colours to help children self-identify how they’re feeling and categorise it based on colour.

The children are taught about the four colours, and supported in many different ways on how to name their feelings, identify their triggers and develop coping strategies and problem-solving skills.

Each day starts for your child by them identifying their emotional ‘colour’ which they are able to adjust throughout the day in response to how they are feeling.

Years R-5 finish at 1.20pm

We would like to remind you that in the event that the school needs to be closed due to bad weather conditions, Surrey schools make announcements on their school website. Ours is www.westfield.surrey.sch.uk  

We will also send a text message in the event that the school needs to be closed.

If the weather looks questionable, please continue to check the website and look at your phone messages (in case the website fails), we wouldn’t want your child to set off for school only to find we are closed. Please ensure the school office has your up to date mobile number.

Should weather conditions turn cold, we ask that:

Students and parents should be mindful of their journey to school and allow extra time. Bonsey Lane is often treacherous and the pedestrian paths have in the past not been treated by Surrey County Council. So we ask that parents/ carers bringing children to school should walk with extreme caution and avoid driving down Bonsey Lane at all if road conditions become icy. THANK YOU!

When bringing children to school they may come in wearing alternative sturdy footwear (boots) and should change into dry school footwear on arrival.

As always the safety of our children and staff is paramount in any decision to close the school.

Due to the risk this presents with hygiene around washing and using toilets, and lack of water in the kitchen for food preparation, we have no choice but to close the school.

Please could parents/carers NOT send children in to school today.

We will keep you updated, and as soon as we have any further information we will advise you.

The staff of Westfield Primary School, along with staff from other local services, such as the library, Your Sanctuary, the Family Centre and the school nurses, will have tables and stalls for you to visit as you wish to provide you with ideas for activities, games, creations and services aimed to promote wellbeing for your children.  With half term coming up, this will the ideal opportunity to top up on your ideas.

Whilst stocks last, there will also be a free wellbeing gift bag!
