PRIDE tea party and Pod opening

The sun shone on the celebrations today as the Mayor joined Westfield Primary School to officially open their new community building, The Pod, and congratulate them on their recent ‘Good’ Ofsted grade. Everyone agreed it been a very successful year!

The Mayor, Cllr Graham Cundy, and Kate Prince from the Local Authority were treated to a karate display from some of the children before the school choir entertained them with a medley of popular songs. Mayor Cundy then said a few words and cut the ribbon to declare The Pod officially open. A celebratory cake was also cut and enjoyed!

This year’s PRIDE Award recipients were then invited to sit down and enjoy their ‘PRIDE Tea Party’, the winners were all voted for by their classmates as demonstrating Westfield’s PRIDE values consistently through the year (Positivity, Respect, Independence, Diversity, Excellence).
